Don't be alarmed at the number of books I am currently reading! I usually have around 12 to 15 'on the go' at any one time - selected from probably 40 or more on the must-read shelf. This is just the way I work. I nibble away at each of them until one grips me and then has my full attention: currently this is the Fred Vargas crime novel 'Have Mercy On Us All'. I have books scattered everywhere - including audio book CD versions in the car! There is always time to snatch at a few paragraphs. My main reading for relaxation is either crime fiction or fantasy but, as I am in the middle of a BA in Popular Music, there is also a fair amount of heavy duty cultural background research required: Barthes and his ilk!
