Snow Falling Cedars
didn't finish wanted to like it more than I actually did, rather disapointed but it may have been state of mind rather than the book. perhaps shouldn't read things that I just feel I ought

Enduring Love
This book was like reading poetry that could be instantly understood. So much of the joy of this dark tale was in the language, I would re-read whole passages just because they swept me away. It prompted me to try other McEwan books but only ever got half way through them and now they look at me forlornly from the bookshelf - maybe this will guilt me into this or maybe there is nothing like the first time

Interpretation of Murder
Not altogether sure that the book lived up to the blurb. It was a page turner of a crime / murder chase but to base it a round Freud's trip to the states was a little weak and I would have been none the wiser was the main character mearly a student of books rather than a friend of the man himself

Crimson Petal and the White
Never ever wanted this to end - fantastically evocative makes you think you know what the place smelt, looked and sounded like - uttley transportable. The sort of book that makes you miss the bus stop time and again

Winter in Madrid
well written page turner left me imagining what next - but sometimes it might be nicer just to tell me what did happen - a little frustrating

Tithe
A book for teenagers really but so good i read it twice back to back. The follow up is Valiant - good but not the same as the first time
