Heart of a Dog
This book was introduced to me by a friend a long time ago and I could not recommend 'Heart of a Dog' more highly. Though written in 1925 the novel's language and humour is as fresh today as it was back then. The story is surreal, funny and cruel. Professor Philip Philippovich Preobrazhensky implants human testicles and a pituitary gland into a stray dog, named Sharik. As the story progresses Sharik begins to become more human and names himself Polygraph Polygraphovich Sharikov and gets a job clearing the city from stray animals. Sharik's personality blends wonderfully with the human element introduced into him and his character is one of the most unique written. Turmoil and pandemonium ensues in the professor's house with wondeful and savage comic effect. My Russian history is not great and I am sure that there are satirical elements to the story, which sadly go above my head. But this in no way detracts from the enjoyment of a wonderful story that was years ahead of its time.

Tripping
Tripping is the second novel from Darren E Laws. As publisher I welcome readers to get in touch with me to find out how you can get your hands on this book at a very special price, three months before the official publication date. Tripping is a surreal black comedy about four girls who meet at university and how an event one night has a riplle effect that affects their lives ten years later. Chick-lit has a dark side...

Turtle Island
I am a little biased as this is the first novel I had published, but would dearly love to hear from anyone who has read it or is interested in buying a copy of the new edition out soon. It would be great if a group wanted to read it collectively. If you run a book group and would like to read 'Turtle Island' or my new novel 'Tripping' then please contact me and I will make sure you get a great deal from my publisher.
