Excellent book - wonderfully evocitive of sights and smells and some cultural nouances of India. Great story, well worth the time. Don't be caught out - it is fiction, and as a piece of enterntainment with the odd smattering of lessons its excellent yaar.

an interesting cross between flann o brien and rober rankin.
some blisteringly brillinat comic scenes. not wonderful in the third policeman sense but a throughally enjoyable irreverant take on irish ways. i loved pat sheehans new philosophy of the itish man

Very interesting well written book. Do we stand against the tide or just flow along with blinkers on.

in fairness the ending was pants, despite the book being well written and evoking a lovely sense of irelands in the 50's.

thoroughly enjoyabel and interesting - read about wordsworth at a mountain lake in the karakoram mountain range. aah now i get him.
