I am a Londoner who emigrated out to Hertfordshire and then Oxfordshire and have even worked for 2 years for a hospice in Wolverhampton but now living back in oxfordshire and commuting to London where I work for a small national charity that supports development projects in the Middle East and Africa. We do some innovative work in the UK working with 'at risk groups' particularly young people - the remit is to give them a counter balance to elements of extremism - make them see there is another way. We are also campaigning to make 7/7 a national day of Tolerance - reclaim the day. If you want to be part of that do please check out www.toleranceinternational.org.uk and sign the petition ... now where was I? books! I started reading from about 4 and have not looked back since. I adore Jane Austen - fav 'Persuasion' - Brontes fav Charlotte - fav 'villette' rather then Jane Eyre which is still brilliant - Thomas Hardy fav 'Tess' but again so hard to choose - I love books - I graduated from Birkbeck College in 1985 with an English degree but it has only been last year I started writing - first a radio play - just finishing my first novel - crime fiction - already got an idea for a film script - maybe I spent too many years going to classes and seminars etc and now it really is time to just do it. My especial interest is American Crime Fiction my all time writing hero is Raymond chandler but I love Iain Banks - the only book I didn't like of his was 'Dead Air' something went badly wrong there - but just finished The Crow Road and re-read Complcity and I love the Culture novels too - when you love books you could just go on and on and how do you say whic is your favourite!
