Snow Crash
Neal Stephenson
In the future the only relief from the sea of logos is the computer-generated universe of virtual reality? But now a strange computer virus, called Snow Crash, is striking down hackers, leaving an unlikely young man as humankind's last hope. This book is shortlisted for the Arthur C. Clarke Award.

I loved the characters! This book thrilled me and provided lots of food for thought while I was living my mundane life. I loved the sword fights. The last name of the protagonist being Protagonist was genius.
This was such a wonderful creative funny book. So many good quotes. So many interesting ideas to chew on.
This book seems to have influenced a lot that's happening on the internet (unless it's copying some earlier book?) Still, I found it kinda hard to understand and didn't like it nearly as well as Cryptonomicon (amazing) and Zodiac (fun).
Its an interesting book isn't it - I found it quite clever in that it managed to mix the ancient religions and gods with the modern ones (the internet!).
Totally agree about Cyrptonomicon, a great book - stephenson is one of those rare author's who can write good tech based fiction - its not too geeky, but at the same time you can tell he knows his stuff.
