Whit
Iain Banks
Isis Whit is a member of the "Elect of God", a religious cult based near Stirling. When her cousin Morag renounces her faith, it falls to Isis to venture out into the techno-ridden barreness of nineties Britain to save her. But Morag has embraced the ways of the "unsaved" with surprising vigour.

I remember enjoying this but I can't remember anything about it so it can't have been that good.
Oops - the first line should read 'not one of his best' - sorry!
Not one of his, I agree. It's a decent read as he is a very good writer but he's so prolific that sometimes I think he just bashes them out. That's possibly very unfair but if you haven't read any Banks then I don't suggest you start here!
Very poor proofreading. There's a typo in the title, for a start. This is an extremely disappointing book for someone who's demonstrated on at least four occasions that he can actually write.
