Third Policeman
Flann O'Brien
Within the boudaries of this novel the reader will find: a murder thriller; a comic satire about an archetypal village police force; a surrealistic vision of eternity; the story of a tender, brief unrequited love affair between a man and his bicycle; and a chilling fable of unending guilt.

Pure Genius - makes mose other thins pure mule. they've got great teeth over there in amrikey
Better than Beckett and Joyce put together.Only book that comes close might be 'Tristan Shandy'.'At swim two birds' is just as good and even his biography 'no laughing matter'is worth a read.
A cautionary tale for those tempted spend too long on their bicycles.
Jaded? Fed up with the same old same old, novels lacking in wit and invention? Buy The Third Policeman.
I'm so glad someone put this up - it's a fantastic book. It's funny, witty, sarcastic and very very odd. Flann O'Brien's writing is a joy - and this is the very best of it.
