Roaches Have No King
Daniel Evan Weiss
When Ira Fishblatt's girlfriend, Ruth Grubstein, moves into his appartment, he has his kitchen renovated to make her feel at home. This is much to the annoyance of the hundreds of other house guests, the cockroaches. Famine drives them to hatch a plan to rid themselves of the tidy Ruth forever.

It will be soon if this site has anything to do with it!
Hey I'm glad someone else has read this. It was another classic charity shop find for me, and it really is a gem. Should be much better known than it is.
Surprised it ain't one of those books you see on the "Cult Read" list.
OO, what a good idea... there isn't ...yet. But do read this, you will enjoy it!
This is a gem of a book. It's little known - but it should be a classic. It's very, very funny and beneath it all is a classic morality tale.
It's 'written' by the cockroaches who inhabit the home of a young Jewish male in New York. They loved his old girlfriend who threw food all over the place when she cooked but his new girlfriend is neat and tidy - and she has to go.
The 'roaches were all born in the spines of Ira's books and absorbed the knowledge from those books as they ate their way out. The books name them and define them. They create each 'roach's view of the world. It's brilliant - read it and laugh yourself silly.
This sounds good Tony. I see that I can add a book to my favourites, but is there a section where I can add books that I'd like to get?
