Where I'm Calling from
Raymond Carver
Shortly before he died, Raymond Carver made his own choice of his best stories, thoroughly revised the texts and published them in "Where I'm Calling From".

If you love short stories - and I do - then this is a masterclass in what they can do. Economical, powerful, unforgettable. I especially like the fact that Carver often wrote the blue collar workers, the ordinary people of the US rather than the rich, powerful or educated. Not every story is a gem - but many are!
Carver was a genius. I've read all his short stories a number of times. Completely brilliant.
Currently reading this. Thoroughly enjoying it. The "warts and all" descriptions create some fully-rounded characters.
Shame the author looks like Jeremy Clarkson on the cover.
