Meanwhile, a young girl, hoping to find a cure for her mother's loneliness, stumbles across a book that changed her mother's life and she goes in search of the author.

Layered, meaningful. This is a story about the need to have our lives witnessed and to be loved. Also about writing and the imagination. Lovely!
I also really liked it and enjoyed the poetic nature of the book. I didn't find the plot difficult at all, although it did leave me with some questions at the end. I would recommend it, though.
I couldn't disagree more. The poetic writing style drew me in from the beginning. The plot was hard to follow and confusing until about half way through the book, but definitely worth sticking it out. A funny and sad story of friendship and lost love. I was entranced and enthralled from the first page to the last. Would recommend to any age and both genders.
I agree. although somewhat confusing at the beginning, you still stuck to the story. Well written and sometims astonishingly beautiful!
I don't understand what all the fuss was about this book. I found it cold and pretentious. Didn't like it at all.
