Hound of the Baskervilles
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Part of the ANDRE DEUTSCH CLASSICS series, a classic mystery story which features Sherlock Holmes, who is called upon to investigate reports of a beast which is terrorizing an American gentleman and his family. Includes an introduction by Trevor McDonald.

A fabulous read in which Doyle spins a classic detective yarn, but also creates a totally entralling atmosphere through both the geographical wildness of Dartmoor and the hint of supernatural menace. And in the end, it's all human. Or is it?
David, if you enjoyed this try The Sign Of the Four, another of the longer Holmes stories, quite enthralling in a very different way. The Hound of the Baskervilles is all human in the end, yet I found the story did not leave you feeling let down.
