Posted by lolalafabulous (12 weeks ago ) Wow I love this book!! I read in Febuary for fun after I found it in a Walden Books while on vacation. Completely rocked my view of writing. It was one of my 1st actual page turner books I read. I actually cried at this.

Posted by Daniel Clay (51 weeks ago ) I read this book because a girl I fancied at school told me to. Stark, bleak, brilliant. The politics of it mostly went over my head at the time - I'd have been fifteen, probably, which would have been 1985 - but the human story, Winston and Julia's love for each other and how the system reacted to it, really got to me. Ignoring all the stuff about Newspeak, I couldn't put it down.
