Boy I Love
Marion Husband
Paul Harris, still frail after shellshock, returns to his father's home and to the arms of his secret lover, Adam. He discovers that Margot, the fiancee of his dead brother, is pregnant and marries her through a sense of loyalty. This story is set in the aftermath of World War One.

I loved this novel, it really moved me and it was very unusual and gripping - highly recommended. It's hero is a young gay man who marries his dead brother's girl because she's pregnant...but really it follows the love (and sex) lives of a three young men, all damaged by the First World War, and really gets to grips with how they all try with varying degrees of failure to fit back into civilian life after the traumas they suffer in the trenches. It's just beautifully written and a joy to read.
