Crime and Punishment
F.M. Dostoevsky
Dostoyevsky's most famous work which tells the story of Raskilnikov, whose contempt of society leads him to believe he is above its laws.

It was one of those classics that had passed my by - but it has surpassed my expectations. An absolute gem of a book - full of wisdom, subtlety and brilliance. You can say so little about it - just read it, absorb it and be pleased that you live in a world in which it exists.
It's not a masterpiece, it's even better! Children at school are stuffed with all the symbols, problems, colours, and actually hate this book. Only a few years later we DO understand, that's the book is the greatest we've ever read. It's the third time I'm rereading it already. Only Bulgakov may seem better compared to Dostoyevskiy)
Might possibly be the favorite book of all time. This book dragged me out of the self-centered perspective of adolescence, force me to kiss the hay market pavement, and join the human race.
