In Cold Blood
Truman Capote
On a November night in 1959, a wealthy Kansas family farmer, his wife and two children, were shot and killed. The two men who had murdered them were hanged for the crime. In the six-year interim, Truman Capote researched and wrote "In Cold Blood", an investigative story which raises many questions.

Excellent book. Brilliantly written and absolutely fascinating despite having seen the movies recently. Fanatastic insight into the minds of murderers, the pain of locals, the drive and effort of law enforcement. how fear feeds on thoughts and grows as a single entityy. I was brought back to that world, and so much more fascinating for the truth within the story. its really us.
Chilling portrayal of the killers, but so well written it's hard to put down once you begin. Capote makes the killers as human as possible, without idealizing them at all.
