Cornelius Quartet
Michael Moorcock
Jerry Cornelius, the English assassin: physicist, rock star and messiah to the Age of Science. This sequence, written between 1965 and 1976, ranges from Jerry's first appearance in "The Final Programme" to the "Guardian" Fiction Prize-winning novel in "The Condition of Muzak".

I used to love these books so much. I was in my late teens/early twenties and smoking so much dope that my head was about to cave in. Jerry Cornelius was my god. I lived in lands of flamingoes and white bulls, up in the Derry and Toms roof garden and wherever my little brain would take me.
I read one again a couple of years ago. I wish I hadn't.
