"Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass"
Lewis Carroll

Curiouser and curiouser. I love the scene in Through the Looking Glass with Alice and the scented rushes. I think about these books on an almost weekly basis. Especially while playing chess. Truly psychodelic.
I think Carroll was smoking something when he wrote these, and I wouldn't mind a puff of what he was having.
Incidentally, the wonderland books were the first volumes I found where songs and rhymes were integrated effectively into the story. No Tolkien-generated wincing here, the Jabberwocky stands on its own and as part of the adventure.
Don't bother with the Beddor juvenile rewrite.
I have now had a puff of what he was having, and you can find the results here: http://www.boohbah.com/zone.html
