Posted by DavidK (1 year ago ) This is a fascinating and lavish book about art history by the artist David Hockney. He investigates whether the great draughtsmen of history such as Albrecht Durer drew entirely freehand, or enlisted visual supports to ensure that their studies were accurate. His conclusion is that they did, and his quest generates intriguing insights inbto the metholdology and abilities of the old masters.
